Can you afford not to employ a CASB?

Recently, Gartner has highlighted the essential role of CASB (Cloud Security Access Brokers) in cloud security architecture.

Businesses seem to be more than aware of the need – with the market for CASBs set to grow to $7.51bn by 2020 - more than double its 2015 size.

What many businesses may not be aware of, however, is the danger of approaching CASB services tactically rather than strategically. According to the Ponemon institute, 41% of businesses believe they have a consistently-applied strategy. Our experience suggests it’s probably a lot fewer in reality. But even if it is true, 59% of businesses not having a joined-up strategy is worrying.

Buying elements of a cloud security architecture piecemeal can come back to haunt you. Especially since many solutions currently marketed as ‘CASB’ deliver only a handful of the features a leading platform can provide.

That means that if you don’t do your homework, you may be left unprotected.

Good enough isn’t good enough.

Enterprises must recognize that taking a reactive approach to their security architecture will leave them vulnerable. Especially if they use multiple cloud services, and if their employees are creating their own solutions on the fly with publicly available apps.

As we’ve said many times before (and as Gartner confirms), many security teams have simply been unable to react to the rapid adoption of cloud services. Managing who has access to what, and how everything is protected, is hard enough for on premise infrastructure. When your data is on somebody else’s system, it becomes exponentially harder.

A whole host of CASB startups, identity management vendors, and next-generation secure web gateway providers have stepped up to answer the need. Which is great. But an already overclocked security team - to say nothing of startups without dedicated resource – may simply lack the time to assess the myriad options available.

And that’s where we come in.
Our agnostic approach to all three of these services allows us to develop a suite of solutions that fit the precise needs of your company. Which means no gaps in your security, no need to worry about the risks inherent in your company’s digital transformation, and use the cloud as it was intended.

For making your life easier rather than harder.
